I’m currently working on an auction from a client who amassed an incredible collection of Raggedy Ann & Andy memorabilia. With hundreds of pieces, this collection runs the gamut—from traditional rag dolls to bedroom linens, home décor, and even draft stoppers. It’s truly mind-boggling to see just how many things can feature the familiar faces of Raggedy Ann and Andy!
I really enjoy working on projects like this because they are so different from the everyday items we typically see. This collection is bold in color, unusual in its variety, and nostalgic in every way. There’s something especially fun about uncovering a collection that reflects such a specific passion and seeing all the creative ways those beloved characters were incorporated into everyday life.
But as I work my way through hundreds of Raggedy Ann & Andy items, I can’t help but ask the obvious question: Are there still collectors out there for Raggedy Ann & Andy?
I’m hoping the answer is a resounding yes! Somewhere across the country, there are bound to be people who remember these characters fondly from their childhood—or collectors who have already started their own Raggedy Ann & Andy collections.
Maybe no one needs 200 pieces (although you never know!), but perhaps there’s room for one or two special finds. A doll, a piece of vintage linen, a bit of wall décor—or maybe, just maybe, a Raggedy Ann & Andy draft stopper!
That’s one of the things I love most about auctions. Every collection has a story, and there’s always someone out there who will appreciate what another collector loved. Now it’s time to see where these Raggedy Ann & Andy treasures find their next homes.
